Mayor & Council
The MN Constitution sets the qualifications for elective office. (MN Constitution, Article VII, section 6.)
To hold elective City Office, all of the following criteria must be met:
| ● must be a qualified City voter |
| ● must be 21 years of age or older on the date of taking office |
| ● must be a citizen of the United States of America |
| ● must be a resident of the City for at least 30 days prior to the election |
| An individual who has been convicted of a felony under either State or Federal law cannot hold elective office in Minnesota unless the individual's Civil Rights have been restored. (MN Constitution, Article VII, section 1.) |
All terms of office in statutory cities begin on the first Monday of January following the election proceeding oath of office. (MN Stat 412.02, subd. 2) Newly elected officials take oath of office at the first regular meeting of the council in January.
Regular meetings of a statutory city council are held at times established by council rules. (MN Stat. 412.191, subd 2) The City of Badger Council meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at 111 North Main Street, Badger, MN. Dates and times are subject to change and will therefore be posted on the community bulletin board located at 111 North Main Street, Badger, MN.
The term of Mayor is two years, and the term of a council member is four years. Below is a listing of the City of Badger Mayor and Councilmembers with their respective term dates.

Downloaded versions are not official. Note that the City Council may have made amendments, additions, or deletions to the ordinance subsequent to the latest online version of the code.
